Reuse
Broken mirrors and decorative glass, as well as sheet glass can be wrapped and put in non-recyclable bags like birdseed, dog food, protein and many snack bags. Theses bags cannot be recycled and are very tough so they’re an excellent option for reuse when dealing with broken items like glass and pottery.
Wrap glass until it’s not sharp, not poking the wrapping, with paper, bags and tape, write Glass on the outside, then put it in your trash cart.
City of Austin bulk collection curbside does not accept broken mirrors or frame/decorative glass so plan accordingly.
