Resources

Austin Creative Reuse
A great place to buy super low priced craft and school material. This is also where you donate any school, craft, office items that still work but that you no longer need or want.
*They have special teacher specials days so sign up for the newsletter if you’re a teacher, the prices are already a steal, but the teacher rates are amazing!

The Austin Common (formerly the Austin EcoNetwork)
This group consolidates all things green/environmental for multiple groups in Austin. It’s a great resource and they publish jobs and internships too, along with meetups, news, etc.

Talk Green to Me: Sustainable Living Series
Austin Public Library hosts a monthly Talk Green To Me workshop and/or book discussion. I haven’t been able to attend, but it would be a good place to meet like minded individuals.

Austin Zero Waste Lifestyle Group
This group is active on Facebook and their leader is also a City of Austin Zero Waste Block Leader for her neighborhood. They’re working to spread the word about Austin’s 2040 zero waste goal.

Austin Resource Recovery, The City of Austin

Zero Waste Block Leader, The City of Austin
A program of the City of Austin and they are always looking for Zero Waste Block Leaders! There’s not a max on the number per neighborhood and we help educate our neighbors on recycling and composting, and work green events like Earth Day, Shred Day, Soil Day, etc.
