Thursdays in Black and OOTD

I’m an advocate for things. Surprise right?! I strive to be an ally, support and bring awareness to issues that we might not be aware of especially if someone or something in my sphere has been affected in that area. I’m digging deeper here going forward. This is why I started the outfit of the day. I’m going to share more than zero waste stuff. I’m going to share how I bring in greener choices into my awareness and support positions.

Thursdays in Black is a global advocacy campaign standing in solidarity for a world without rape and gender-based violence. This initiative was launched by Ecumenical Women at the United Nations. I wear black on Thursdays and my Thursdays In Black button.

I pause for a moment of silence on Thursdays at 12 PM to remember and honor those who have died at the hand of sexualized or gender-based violence.

I’ve got my Costco joggers on which are not cotton, but I have ultrasounds today and I need to hold a lot of water so they’re my ultrasound pants. Everything else I’m wearing is cotton or organic cotton. There are usually greener options we can pick to promote things. Get cotton over the polyester/ plastic clothes. Get the sign that can be repurposes vs. the one that gets trashed. Do you need another mug or a cup? Or can you get a sticker that you can put on one you already have? If there is a mug or a cup you can use, how helpful is it: does it hold the amount of coffee you drink or is it too small? Does the handle look comfortable? Is the water bottle all metal if that’s important to you or is everything plastic? Is it easy to clean or is it going to be difficult and you won’t use it?
