Reuse small containers for trash & compost in the bathroom, office, etc. Research has shown that the larger the trashcan, the more likely you are to fill it up, so in reverse try smaller or no containers. We have 13 gallon kitchen bins and tiny bathroom bins. No other rooms have bins; you have to…

Hair, not dyed/chemically treated (natural) and pet fur can go in compost. You can also try to leave some out for birds and animals who may want to use it for nesting material. Do not compost dyed, chemically treated hair, or hair extensions. Tip: The hair clogged the vacuum so use a dust pan.

Don’t forget to go through your summer supplies and re-home what doesn’t fit anymore. We have toddler goggles that need a new home that we in fact reused from those left and forgotten at the neighborhood pool. My family has created a rule for our neighborhood: if it’s left in the same spot for three…

Library Haul today! Food is always interesting in our house: how to reduce waste, eat healthier, food as fuel, etc. Our neighborhood hosts a big Eid event so I’m working on learning and explaining more about it, especially to my 7 year old. He’s also on spring break so he’s doing a lot of building…
