Confetti Balloons: Litter for Months Later

Confetti Balloons: Litter for Months Later

Please do not buy confetti balloons. If you must, please do not pop them outside. If you pop them outside, do not do it on a windy day and pickup/vacuum all the confetti. I did a campus cleanup at my son’s school last month and I was still finding confetti in the grass four months…

I tried something new recently! I went to Bella Beauty College for a hair trim by one of their cosmetology students. Can’t tell the difference, good! They cleaned up 2 inches of split ends and layers from growing my hair out the last year and a half. It’s nice to not have tangly hair. If…

We had three bags, two garbage and one grocery, to drop off at the Austin Wildlife Rescue Center on this day. This is a catch up post so it’s out of date order. It is important to share it because there is so much material out there that can be reused and appreciated, we just…

We had gorgeous weather for this year’s Creation Care Fair hosted by Triumphant Love Lutheran Church. There is always such an amazing array of vendors to talk with and so many fun crafts for kids. I got to meet a real bat and took home a birdhouse and bee home for solitary bees. It was…

My Kids Hair Jammed the Vacuum: Compost it

Hair, not dyed/chemically treated (natural) and pet fur can go in compost. You can also try to leave some out for birds and animals who may want to use it for nesting material. Do not compost dyed, chemically treated hair, or hair extensions. Tip: The hair clogged the vacuum so use a dust pan.

Don’t forget to go through your summer supplies and re-home what doesn’t fit anymore. We have toddler goggles that need a new home that we in fact reused from those left and forgotten at the neighborhood pool. My family has created a rule for our neighborhood: if it’s left in the same spot for three…

Library Haul today! Food is always interesting in our house: how to reduce waste, eat healthier, food as fuel, etc. Our neighborhood hosts a big Eid event so I’m working on learning and explaining more about it, especially to my 7 year old. He’s also on spring break so he’s doing a lot of building…
