My dad lives on sparkling water. He loves it, all the brands and most flavors. Five years ago we got him a SodaStream for Christmas so he could make his own. He can control the amount of bubbles and I was hoping to reduce the amount of glass bottles in the recycling and the shopping for cases of water for my mom. Glass is infinitely recyclable, it’s just that a case of glassed bubble water is heavy and when you buy three-four cases at a time it’s a lot, though my mom is super strong I’m always trying to help. We’re helpers.
He liked and we did too so the next year I bought one for my house. My son and niece love “Poppy Water” which is what they call dad’s water, or bubble water instead of sparkling water. It’s a great way to save money, resources, time and control the flavor or sugar content in your own water. We’re still going strong 4 years later in my house. We do limit the amount of bubble water for my son and his dentist has made that recommendation for his teeth.
You can save money and resources by exchanging your SodaStream sparking water canister. If you take a canister back to your local HEB, Best Buy, or Target, you’ll get half-off the price of a new canister and SodaStream will take theirs back to sanitize it and refill it. Make sure to grab the correct refill type, there are two, one is pink and one is blue and the attachment type is different.
If you don’t have a shop listed here near you, you can check their website for a local exchange option or you can do a mail-in option directly with SodaStream.
Each household has an extra on hand but you’d necessarily need to do that. I have an update below on an extra extra canister I had on hand.
