Kid’s Crafts: Processing an Octopus

I found this little guy, who is an octopus, tucked away in the closet. The tentacles blow in the A/C or the fan so I had put him away as the rustling was irritating me. I’m a little sensitive to certain repetitive sounds. My son is fortunately over him and while he’s cute, but we don’t need him. So it’s time to process this little octopus from summer camp.

Compost the crepe paper tentacles and body filler, this particular paper cup (it tore super cleanly and you can feel the paper-only, and the kabob stick.

Reuse the googly eyes. I have a container for google eyes to reuse that have been saved from kid’s crafts. The eyes are easy to glue onto new projects and work with either white craft glue or hot glue.

Trash the glue blob that held the stick onto the cup.

A lot of this can be reused I just have so much to reuse already….

Warning: Not all paper cups can be recycled. Some are plastic-coated paper and would need to be trashed. If the cup was for a hot or cold fluid it’s safer to trash it.
