Ruined metal pots and pans, and other rusted, broken, unsafe mostly metal items can be recycled at the Scrap Metal Station at the Recycle & Reuse Drop-off Center (RRDC). Old saw blades, tools, yard items, sign holders, bent hangers, all can be dropped off in the Scrap Metal roll-off.
Metal hangers in good condition are gladly accepted at most drycleaners. Call ahead to make sure they are accepting hangers at this time, either due to space constraints and/or Covid safety precautions.
The recycling contractor will take apart the items to be properly sorted, separating out the plastic and rubber parts and other bits, and recycle all the components.

On the flip side, if you have mostly plastic with a bit of metal broken items, those go in the Hard Plastics station at the Recycle & Reuse Drop-off Center (RRDC). The recycling contractor will take apart the items to be properly sorted, separating out the different materials and recycling all the components.
