Too Many Bananas
Anyone else ever order too many bananas???
We accidentally ordered bunches instead of a set amount of bananas. What we didn’t plan to eat or freeze I set out and emailed my block and friends for pickup. You can also post food like this on Buy Nothing groups. If I had more time or was prepared, I would have coordinated with a meal program at my church. So keep all your options in mind as well as timing in case this happens, or you come across an opportunity like this.
I find bananas freeze best if you peel them first then freeze them.❄️ We store ours in Pyrex in the freezer and I pull out or pry off with a spatula what I need for muffins?, bread ?, pancakes ?, or smoothies. I find if I freeze the banana with the skin on it goops while I peel it and my fingers get super cold and frozen themselves.?
What I can’t give away I will compost.
