Pollinator Day in Mueller! This was the 3rd Annual Pollinator Day which occurs the Friday before Earth Day.
This was my second year tabling. I was asked to focus on Planet vs. Plastics, the international Earth Month theme and since I knew that when I made my new board for the Care of Creation Fair, it would have worked. Due to wind and table limitations I ended up not putting any boards out.
Join us for an unforgettable afternoon at John Gaines Park on Friday, April 19, from 4-6 PM, as we come together to honor Earth Day by planting a Pollinator Garden. Let’s create a beautiful habitat for butterflies and other pollinators right here in Mueller! Bring your family and friends to this eco-friendly event, where you can:
- Make seed balls to plant vibrant zinnias
- Craft signs for the planting areas
- Discover how to attract friendly pollinators to our neighborhood
- Learn fascinating facts about Purple Martins and other local birds
- Get expert gardening tips at our ‘Ask a Gardener’ booth
- Decorate reusable bags to take home
- Master the art of recycling and hydroponic plant growing
- Plant a flower in a pot to nurture all summer long
- There’s something for everyone, no matter your age!
I used marker pens and nature stencils to make a totally cute reusable canvas bag from one of the tables. Purple and green are my favorite colors! I loved it so much!
I almost cried, I spilled lemonade in it at Mueller EID the next day and accidentally washed it wrong so I have to work on repairing it.
It was perfect under my reusables demo box.
TABLING TIP: Always take a notepad to write down questions people have and take their information to get back with them. It also helps to write out things in case it’s loud or one of you can’t hear the other well.
NOTES refillable candles sent me a candle with scents to share, and I had the original one I tried out to re-home as well so I raffled these two off for anyone who wanted to sign up. The winners will decide which scents they want.
I tend to end up with giveaways at Pollinator Day so I use them to help entice participation
I haven’t written my post on NOTES Candles yet so stayed tuned. I also owe you on Arbor Made Candles too.
