Fake leather book covers are not sustainable. They start to crack, peel and then shed everywhere.
Even if you find a Bible cover or a devotional cover to put over it, the flaking still occurs inside the cover and then gets stuck to your cover and then you will have to scrape the flaking from that if you ever want to change books.
So stick to leather if you want and take care of the leather, use traditional fabric covers, or buy readily available hard or paperback covers.
