Austin Wildlife Rescue Drop Off 02-13-25

Posted on March 31, 2025March 31, 2025Author TaylorPosted in About, Children, ReusableLeave a Reply

We had three bags, two garbage and one grocery, to drop off at the Austin Wildlife Rescue Center on this day. This is a catch up post so it’s out of date order. It is important to share it because there is so much material out there that can be reused and appreciated, we just…

We had gorgeous weather for this year’s Creation Care Fair hosted by Triumphant Love Lutheran Church. There is always such an amazing array of vendors to talk with and so many fun crafts for kids. I got to meet a real bat and took home a birdhouse and bee home for solitary bees. It was…

They have kid and adult rain boots at Academy Sports + Outdoors! Rain is coming Austin, are you ready? I tried to ask for rain boots for my seven old through school and Buy Nothing but no one had any. I was looking for size 3 in case you’re curious. I haven’t seen kid rain…

My Kids Hair Jammed the Vacuum: Compost it

Hair, not dyed/chemically treated (natural) and pet fur can go in compost. You can also try to leave some out for birds and animals who may want to use it for nesting material. Do not compost dyed, chemically treated hair, or hair extensions. Tip: The hair clogged the vacuum so use a dust pan.

Free Goggles: Summer Supplies Clean Out

Don’t forget to go through your summer supplies and re-home what doesn’t fit anymore. We have toddler goggles that need a new home that we in fact reused from those left and forgotten at the neighborhood pool. My family has created a rule for our neighborhood: if it’s left in the same spot for three…

Library Haul today! Food is always interesting in our house: how to reduce waste, eat healthier, food as fuel, etc. Our neighborhood hosts a big Eid event so I’m working on learning and explaining more about it, especially to my 7 year old. He’s also on spring break so he’s doing a lot of building…

I found a seam ripper! Austin Creative Reuse had a seam ripper! I broke mine trying to remove handles from luggage. They also had all three colors of thread I wanted for mending. I walked around and looked at everything for ideas for Easter basket egg filler and basket filler. I will use the ribbon…

Sharing is caring! I don’t purchase items for my videos or posts. It either comes into my spheres naturally or I will ask my neighbors or my Buy Nothing group to get something that I’m getting questions about or dealing with. I have gotten rid of a lot of things over the years and so…

Reuse Your Green for St. Patrick’s Day

Posted on March 17, 2025March 17, 2025Author TaylorPosted in Children, ReusableLeave a Reply

It’s St. Patrick’s Day today. Make sure to reuse your green! Reuse green that you already have for St. Patrick’s Day, don’t buy new. And stay away from shamrocks, they tend to be a single-use/single holiday symbol. If you want to buy/borrow/find green, find plain green that is more general use. Having general green that…

Pair your donations. Make sure to tie shoelaces together on shoes, or rubber band shoes together. For socks, roll them in each other. Bag and label other sets of items. If I took a tag off and I know what the size was, I like to permanent marker the size in the neck or waistband…
